We are losing daylight folks, my time reading on the front porch after work is very limited these days. I need a lamp, which requires an outlet, which means a call to an electrician, and then leads to all the other electrical work we need done, which means it will take me ten years, give or take, . If you give a mouse a muffin…anyway. Loving Good Reads for finding new books to read. You can see what friends are reading and how they rate the books, it also makes recommendations to you based on your past reads. It also makes it easier to share what I am reading…
Four of a Kind by Valerie Frankel
The Dry Grass of August by Anna Jean Mayhew
The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes
Kind of mediocre reads for the second half of summer, better reading in the first half. I didn’t realize the last two books I read were set in Brooklyn Heights Brooklyn until I started reading the second one. If you love Chicago, Chicago food, food television, I recommend Off the Menu, it was filled with the Chicago food scene and behind the action of food television. Would love to know the sources and how much of the story is based in reality.
I am hoping for some more solid reads in the next batch. Send me recommendations or connect with me here on Good Reads.
I think I’ll look for The Off the Menu book – based on your recommendation, I read In Thin Air – it was really good – the second book I’ve read cover to cover in 10+ years!
BERF is here! BERF is here! Whew.
Did you read about this?

I did not! Crazy. Thanks for passing along. Have a great 5K tomorrow!
Oh at least you take the time to read. . .I need to read in a club to finish a book. I have three books that I am reading right now and I think I have 40 pages left in each. Such a fail! Looks like some good reads though 🙂
I can thank my train commute for most of the reading, but lately I have been making an effort to take the time at home (and turn off the TV).
