Sheesh, June came and went in a blink of an eye. I am still not feeling like it is summer, a trip to the beach this weekend should do the trick. Not too much reading this month. I finished Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins, the second book in The Hunger Games series. I liked it as much as the first one. I also read Mockingjay to finish out the series. I blame this book for my lack of reading other books. It really took me awhile to get through it. It was good but not as suspenseful as the other two and at times I felt like I was forcing myself to finish it. Of course I am glad read it, and give the whole series a huge thumbs up. If you haven’t read the series I would recommend it for great summer reading.
I am finishing up the month with an actual physical book, All We Ever Wanted Was Everything by Janell Brown. I finished it up this weekend, luckily I had three straights days on the beach. It was not as fluff as I had hoped. The story had a few similar bits to another book I read a few summers ago (I can’t recall the title) so that was disappointing and in the end the book was just OK. Nothing too exciting. But hey beach, book, beer — three ingredients to a great weekend!
Where did you guys go? We spent all day yesterday at the Warren Dunes – it was so much fun!
The in-laws live in St. Joe MI. Love the dunes, I need to get my kids there!!
