My memory isn’t what it used to be. In re-telling all the routine recipes and meatless recipes I have tried lately I forgot a few. Jane at The Healthy Beehive reminded of one in particular I forgot. Or maybe I did mention it. Ever start telling someone a story and you can almost immediately tell by their expression that you have already told them a story, But then somehow your ego takes over and rather than admit you are repeating yourself you just keep telling it. No? Yea,I don’t either.
OK, so the recipe is cauliflower pizza crust. Tell me if you heard this before. I have seen this recipe pop up all over all the place. I was intrigued and had the perfect storm of cauliflower on hand and a house to myself. I knew I had to give it a try. At the time it seemed like a fail, but after reading feedback on other sites I learned I was not alone. The result was not meant to be picked up like your standard pizza, but instead enjoyed with a fork. I still couldn’t help but want to be able to pick it up. Anyway, it was flippin’ delicious. As Biz would say holy shizz! I can’t recall which recipe I even ended going with, but I think Jane came up with a good one to follow. Bonus, she has pictures where I don’t. Check out her recipe for cauliflower pizza crust.
Another one I forget, and also did not photograph, is the Sandwich King’s sweet potato biscuits. My husband and I love watching this show every week. We want to make all of his recipes. And we enjoy his cheesy humor, he cracks me up! This week I think his episode is going to include a stop at one of my favorite places, Pastoral. Well back to the recipe, I think I used too much sweet potato because the dough was very wet, and the result not super flaky. But the taste was delicious. I made a huge mess of the kitchen on Easter morning so I could bring them to Easter lunch at my parents.
No food pics, but I did snap our Easter view. This is a portion of the view from my parent’s home.
Love that it was “Holy Shizz!” worthy! Okay, I have an idea about the bang bang sauce – marinating shrimp in it (I’d add sriracha to it), then grilling it? Or do you think I should just grill the shrimp and toss it in the bang bang sauce??
Thoughts? Happy Friday!
🙂 Thanks! That is one awesome view!
I love the sandwich king too – I think his quirky sense of humor is awesome!
Glad your cauliflower crust turned out great, I tried one a few years ago and it didn’t work out so hot!
