As if chocolate cake for breakfast wasn’t good enough, I moved onto cookies for breakfast. You’d never guess that I really prefer savory over sweet for breakfast. Though honestly neither of these dessert sounding breakfasts are dessert sweet, they are more on the savory side of the scale. As much as I enjoyed the cake I actually prefer these cookies. Something about the texture just makes it more hearty to me. I especially love the dark chocolate bits. Did you know dark chocolate improves athletic performance? So they say. I used dried cherries in place of the cranberries and left over spiced nuts instead of walnuts, gave it a nice touch of spice.
Good stuff! Check out the recipe for the breakfast cookie.
Tasty little project of discovering these new breakfast options.
Yum yum yum. Looks great!
Breakfast cookies are the best in the morning! I love how I can grab them on my way out the door, plus.. who doesn’t want to eat a cookie before 8am?? Your breakfast cookies look delicious! I love chocolate and cherry together!
These look REALLY good. I am going to send you a recipe that I have for a granola cookie that I love.
Please do send me that recipe, sounds great.
Ooooh! Sign me up! That looks amazing, and not just fit for breakfast.
I love that you simply throw the ingredients into a bowl and microwave it. Ashley has some great breakfast alternatives on her site. This would make a great breakfast on the go. This is a great flavor combination with the dark chocolate and dried cherries.
My kind of quick and easy recipe too. I may start putting together the dry ingredients in portions to save measuring them each time.
