The Help By Kathryn Stockett |
Completed! Did not disappoint, even with all the hype. An amazing first novel, let’s hope it is not a fluke because I look forward to more stories. A heart warming, hear breaking story of human nature and historical prejudice, thou can be easily applied to modern day prejudice.
The Nine Rooms of Happiness
Loving Yourself, Finding Your Purpose, and Getting Over
Life’s Little Imperfections
By Lucy Danziger and Catherine Birndorf
Completed! I enjoyed the concept of the nine rooms in regard to your life (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, etc..), a good way to organize your areas of improvement. But in the end it was meh. Two thoughts to sum it up. 1) Happiness is choice. 2) Live an authentic life.
The Heights

On Order!
Visiting from Life as MOM. I've looked and looked at The Help, but haven't gotten around to buying/reading it yet. Might have to put it on my shopping list for our local used book store! Thanks for your reviews – love the short and sweet! 🙂
I have The Help on my Library hold list(number 112 or something) so it must be a popular book!
Carrie – Thanks for visiting! I love the short and sweet too, otherwise I wouldn't ever get the time to post them.
April – I got lucky and found a friend that had a copy of it. Once I started asking around I got a few offers of copies.
I'm stopping in from Life as Mom. I loved The Help, too. It's fun to find an unexpected good book 🙂 Happy reading!
Thanks for stopping over Lynn. I am in the midst of what seems to be another unexpected good read. Hope to have a review up soon.
I haven't gotten back to The Help, but now you've got me intrigued with Nine Rooms. Thanks!
The Nine Rooms is a good audio choice. Good topic to hear someone TELL you rather than reading the content, I thought.
